Jennifer Walker
Published May 8, 2011
You may remember her piercing blue eyes or the various shades of purple hair that were her trademark; her laugh, her wit, her artsy style that took some of us back to the ‘60s. She was private, homey, creative, funny and the best quilter in the North Pacific.
She was born Jennifer Magda Adams of Rochester, N.Y., on June 12, 1959; she passed away Jennifer Magda Walker of Oak Harbor in the early morning of Mother’s Day, May 8, 2011. She was diagnosed with terminal lung cancer on May 10 of 2010 and died in her sleep on May 8.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Suzette Camille Marie Lenihan and Ralph Everett Adams, formerly of Geneseo, N.Y.
She is survived by her husband, David Walker; her children, Caitlin Rider Curtis, McKenzie Rider, Emily Skiff and Aaron Skiff; and grandchildren, McKenzie, Beau and Tyler Curtis; as well as her siblings Lauren Piasta, Joan Carlson, Mariah Adams, Catherine Cummings, Ken Adams and SueAnn Adams.
Jennifer graduated from Geneseo Central High School and studied at the State University of New York before serving in the United States Navy as a flight simulator technician.
More importantly Jennifer was an artist. She was an exquisite kaleidoscope quilter. She was a reader, a gardener and a “crafter.” There was nothing she could not make wih her hands.
Jennifer Walker’s memorial service will be held at her home on her birhday, June 12, 2011.
The family would like to express never-ending gratitude for the love and support from family and friends close and far away, and to Carole, Kirsten, and the caring staff at Hospice of the Northest.
