Jeanine Lee Cook-Dyer: July 23, 1961 – March 27, 2022

Jeanine Lee Cook-Dyer was born on July 23, 1961, to Mary and Lloyd Cook, on the Atsugi Naval Base, Japan (she loved to say that she was made in Japan)! She passed away, unexpectedly, on Sunday, March 27, at the age of 60.

The last thing any of us imagined doing was delivering the eulogy for our dearest Nene. Her sudden passing comes as a shock to our families.

Jeanine loved nature and the ocean. She was an avid hiker, loved crabbing, fishing, and anything on the water. She enjoyed camping with friends and adored all her dogs and cat Sushi. She especially cherished hiking her favorite trails at Fort Ebey with her husband Pat, along with the company of her two dogs Gertie and Willie D. Her home was filled with years of memories, beautiful flowers, and juicy loganberries! Jeanine loved to take drives while belting out Madonna’s Like A Virgin, and she loved the great outdoors of Washington. She loved cooking meals for Pat, and posted her delicious creations on Facebook, causing many a mouth to water! She was an avid Mariners and Seahawks fan – a devout 12th Man!

Jeanine was a simply phenomenal woman – a daughter, sister, a wife, an aunt, and a friend. Nothing at all can sum up the amazing, loving, hopeful, inspiring, and truly uplifting person she is, was, and will always be. Her laughter alone brought smiles to many faces. It is the person, her spirit and presence, that will forever be missed, but never forgotten. She was firm in her beliefs. A truthful friend to all. One who would never back down in support of those less fortunate. She stood tall against every obstacle and never abandoned the love she had for all.

For without pain, we can never aspire to the greatness we are called to. Now, having secured eternal life, with her father, LC, mother Mary, brother Robert, and each loved one we have said farewell to, she is at Peace. Her rightful place is there, for all the love, joy, wisdom, and grace she shared with us all.

She is survived by her husband of 19 years, Patrick Dyer, brothers Richard (Phoenix, AZ) and Bill (La Conner, WA) and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and 4 great nieces. As well as her lifetime friend Barb Canupp Houk and her mother, Fay Canupp (Oak Harbor), and dear friend Cathi Minerich.
