Jean Cory Kaufman of Bellingham passed away on Nov. 14, 2006 just short of her 95th birthday on Nov. 20.

She was born Nov. 20, 1911 in Bellingham. Her husband, Ted Kaufman, is deceased. They spent several years living on Whidbey Island. Her children are Jay and wife Shirley Kaufman of Foster City, Calif., Jerry Kaufman of Burlington, Jack Kaufman of Bellingham, and Alice and husband Jerry Eis of Bellingham. She has 12 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Jean was a member of St. James Presbyterian Church. She enjoyed bingo, knitting and crochet.

She attributed her longevity to faith and having a loving family. A celebration of Jean’s life will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 22 at 11 a.m. at St. James Presbyterian Church with a reception immediately following. Memorials are suggested to the Lighthouse Mission.
