Janet Marie Abrahamse was born on November 23, 1934 in Oak Harbor, WA to John and Daisy Abrahamse. She grew up with her three brothers on their Clover Valley Farm in Oak Harbor before graduating Valedictorian from Oak Harbor High School.Jan married Kenneth Buehn on May 8, 1953. They were married for 51 years, raising three children on North Whidbey where they farmed strawberries and vegetables. Jan was the beloved pillar of her family—a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who supported those she loved in whatever endeavors they pursued. She was also a survivor, successfully fighting through two bouts of breast cancer. A lifelong learner, she enjoyed reading, puzzles, and spending time with her kitties. She was also an avid gardener, cultivating beautiful flowers and delicious vegetables and berries. Her family treasures their memories of joining her out in the rows of green beans and in the greenhouses Ken built for her.

Jan was preceded in death by her parents; husband; siblings Martin, Donald, and John Jr.; and daughter-in-law Marilyn Buehn. She is survived by her children Kenneth Peter of Puyallup, WA, Scott (Beth) of Wenatchee, WA, and Jacqueline Swankie (Steven) of Oak Harbor, as well as six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
