Jamie Laurayn Fealey

Jamie Fealey, 20, died as the result of an automobile accident near Oak Harbor on March 28, 2006, while on her way to school. She was born in Coupeville on Oct. 7, 1985 to Guy and Mary Fealey.

Jamie grew up in the Oak Harbor area and attended public schools here, graduating from Oak Harbor High School in 2004. She went on to college at Central Washington University in Ellensburg, where she completed the first year and a quarter of her studies. She recently moved back to Oak Harbor to finish her second year of college at Skagit College.

Since the age of 11 Jamie was very involved in the Rainbow Girls and was well known in Northwest Washington for her participation. While attending school in Central Washington she transferred her membership to the Yakima Rainbow Girls thereby further expanding her circle of friends in the state.

Jamie was fond of teddy bear patrols, whales, dolphins, turtles, and dragons. Jamie will be remembered for her joy of life, enthusiasm in all she did, and her friendly smile.

Jamie’s favorite things were the International Order of Rainbow for Girls and her car.

Jamie leaves her loving family; her father and mother Guy and Mary Fealey, her brother Guy E. Fealey, her cousin Jeselyn Fealey and uncle James Fealey, all of Oak Harbor, along with maternal grandparents Fred and Marion Wells and paternal grandmother Florence “Honey” Fealey all of Kerrville, Texas. She also is survived by her uncle Fred Wells, with wife Tricia, and children Jacqui and David, of Perth, Australia and uncle Alan Wells with wife Kathy Jane and children, Chandra, Krista, and Michael of Atlanta, Georgia, along with many cousins and close friends who will miss her greatly.

Memorial services for Jamie will be held Thursday, April 6, at 2 p.m. at the Oak Harbor First Reformed Church on SW 3rd. A private family inurnment will follow at a later date. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to the local Teddy Bear Patrol for law enforcement, firefighters, and Emergency Medical Technicians, or to the Rainbow Dad’s Scholarship Fund, C/O Bob Starowski, Treasurer, 8531 S. 124th, Seattle, WA 98178.
