James Narciso Rebetter

James Narciso Rebetter, 83, died June 29, 2004, in Lakewood. He was born Dec. 14, 1920, in Calvert, Texas, to Narciso and Texanna (Nash) Rebetter. James served in the U.S. Army during World War II as a part of the Asiatic-Pacific Campaign.
Mr. Rebetter left the Navy and returned to Texas for a time and then moved on to California, settling in Los Angeles. He spent 30 years in LA, working for Douglas Aircraft as an electro-mechanical engineer. He moved on to AMPEX Corporation working with advanced technology. In the early 1970’s, he moved to Corpus Christi, Texas, and retired in August of 1972. He spent much of his retirement fishing. Mr. Rebetter moved from Texas to Oak Harbor in 2001 to be close to his daughter. He was a resident of Careage of Whidbey when he first arrived on Whidbey.
Mr. Rebetter is survived by one daughter, Myron Warner of Oak Harbor and one son, James Rebetter of Long Beach, Calif. Three grandchildren, Alfred Warner and wife Susan of Seattle; Andre and wife Chantee of Fairfield, Calif., and Kyle Warner of McChord Air Force Base, Tacoma, and two great-grandchildren, Alexander Warner of Renton, and Andre Warner of Fairfield, Calif., also survive. He is also survived by sisters Margret, Reta Singleton, Lucile and brothers, Domingo Herman and Joe Rebetter.
Cremation was held with private family inurnment to follow at a later date at Maple Leaf Cemetery, Oak Harbor. Arrangements are under the direction of Burley Funeral Chapel, Oak Harbor.
