Jack Watt

Jack Lindy Watt died at Island Hospital, Anacortes on May 8, 2006. Jack was born in Greeley, Colo., to John Aeneus and Maye (Goodwine) Watt. Jack spent much of his early life in Saint Maries, Idaho and Spokane. Jack left school during the 10th grade and enlisted in the U.S. Navy.

Following his military service, Jack began moving around the country. He lived in Casper, Wyo., New Orleans, Peoria, Ill., and many other locations. He was a jack-of-all-trades. He worked as a stock car driver, disk jockey, uranium survey claims broker, heavy equipment operator, telephone lineman, oil rig laborer and banker.

On Oct. 29, 1961, Jack married Marcia Broyles in Peoria, Ill. She and Jack moved to Orange County, Calif., Ellensburg, Wyoming, Couer d’Alene and in 1975, settled in Oak Harbor. Jack was appointed District Manager of the Viacom Cablevision office in Oak Harbor, a position he held until his retirement in 1990. Jack enjoyed oil painting, cars, boats and planes and anything that went fast. For many years he held his private pilot’s license.

Jack is survived by four children: Stacey Lynn Boehm of Sacramento, Jacqueline Joy Watt of Anacortes, Rebecca Marie Steininger of Federal Way, ad Timothy Watt of Oak Harbor; and one brother, Robert Watt, also of Oak Harbor. He was preceded in death by his wife Marcia in 1995.

Graveside funeral services for Jack Watt will be held Saturday, May 13, at 1 p.m. at Saint Maries Cemetery, Saint Maries, Idaho. Arrangements are entrusted to Burley Funeral Chapel, Oak Harbor.
