Herman Seiger

Heerman R. Seiger died March 10, 2006 at his home in Apache Junction, Az., in the arms of his wife and family members. He was cremated March 16 at the Allen Funeral Home in Mesa, Az.

He was born Feb. 17, 1924 in Blackwood, Penn., to Herman and Mamie Seiger who predeceased him. He attended schools in Blackheath, Llewyn and Cass Township.

Herman served in the U.S. Army 122nd Station Hospital in the South Pacific in World War II. After his discharge in Fort Lewis in 1945 he came to Coupeville to marry his childhood sweetheart, Pearl M. (Bowers). They had one son Bruce Allen Seiger who passed away of ALS in 2004.

Mr. Seiger was a member of the Coupeville Fire Department for many years. He was a member of the Boy Scouts Troop 59, the Coupeville Band Parents’ Club, the American Legion and the Elks Lodge 2349.

He leaves his wife at home; one daughter-in-law, Norah Burns-Seiger of Easthampton, Mass.; a grandson, Timothy Seiger and his wife Keirsten of Westford, Mass.; two stepsons, John Burns and wife Laura and Paul Burn and wife Tara of South Carolina; one step granddaughter, Rowan Hayley Burns of South Carolina; two step grandsons, Patrick Burns of South Carolina and Jack Burns of Waltham, Mass.; two brothers, Earnest of Reading, Penn., and Delmar of Akron, Ohio; and oen sister, Elsie of Trenton, N.J.
