Helen Rose Ray was born in Lockport, N.Y., on April 17, 1932, and passed away at home in Oak Harbor, Wash., on March 9, 2019, at the age of 86. Helen moved to Oak Harbor in 1974 from Alaska. She enjoyed sewing, gardening and bowling.

She was a very supportive mother, always willing to chaperone her children on their school trips and outings.

She is survived by her daughter Maylee Ray, of Oak Harbor, and three cousins in New York. She was preceded in death by her son George on March 5, 2018, and daughter Ada Ray on March 4, 2019.

A service will be announced at a later date. Arrangements have been made with the assistance of Whidbey Memorial Funeral and Cremation Service.
