Harry B. Rich

Harry B. Rich passed away at home surrounded by his family on Sept. 10, 2006, in Freeland. He was born July 9, 1927 in Trenton, N.J., only son of Madeline and Harry H. Rich. He attended the US Coast Guard Academy (1946-49); was an active duty U.S. Air Force pilot (1950-53); graduated with a BA in Architecture & BS in Engineering from Oklahoma State University; practiced architecture in Seattle, 1957-1989, with his sole practice from 1972-1989; member AIA Emeritus, Capitol Hill Community Council; and on Whidbey Island was a charter member of Penn Cove Gallery, member of Artists of South Whidbey, Greenbank Artists, and Art League North.

He leaves his beloved wife, Claire; children, Suzanne, John Leslie (Darlene), Jennifer (Marc), Lauren, Christina, Harry Jr., and Kenneth; two grandchildren Lindsay and Ryan; and great grandchild, Joel Aiden.

Funeral Mass will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 16, at St. Hubert’s Catholic Church in Langley.
