Harley Hubert Hall, 84, of Oak Harbor, died Nov. 15, 2004. He was born Jan. 23, 1920, in Hills, Johnson County, Iowa, to Warren and Lavina (Deutsch) Hall. Mr. Hall served20 years in the United States Navy and was a veteran of World War II and the Korean War.
He moved to Oak Harbor in 1952 and was stationed at Whidbey Island Naval Air Station until his retirerment in 1957 as a chief petty officer. Her married Marjorie Monro in February 1943 in Oakland, Calif. They were divorced in 1976.
Mr. Hall was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing, trapping and attending the annual USS Colorado reunions. Mr. Hall was a long-time member of the Navy Rod and Gun Club, serving in various offices. He also served many years as a volunteer game warden for NAS Whidbey.
Survivors include four daughters and their families: Alice and Gary Whistler of Eagle Creek, Ore.; Marcia and Ric Jennings of Sedro-Woolley; Annie Hall and Lance Severson of Oak Harbor; and Sally and Charlie Singh of Snohomish. He is also survived by a sister, Celested Thinker of Fort Madison, Iowa; two brothers, Cleo A. Hall of Phoenix, Ariz., and Lloyd Hall of Granada Hills, Calif; seven grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and a sister.
A celebration of life will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, Nov. 26, at Whidbey Yacht Club, 1301 SE Catalina Dr. Arrangements by Affordable Burial and Cremation Services of Mount Vernon.
