Gloria J. Jackson

Gloria J. Jackson passed away Aug. 29, 2003, following an extended illness.

Gloria was born on Guemes Island Jan. 9, 1928. She lived in Anacortes until she Nov. 11, 1946, when she married Clarence Jackson.

Gloria and “Jackson” made Oak Harbor their home. Gloria retired from Oak Harbor School District and lived in Oak Harbor until January 2002 when she moved to Mount Vernon.

Gloria was preceded in death by an infant son and an infant daughter; her husband Clarence; her brother Carl Freeman; her brother Roy Freeman; her mother Ellen “Daisy” Storme and her step-father Carl Storme.

She is survived by: her daughter Vickie (Jackson) Mami; grandson Joel Mami; granddaughter Natalie Mami and four great-grandchildren — Ayla, Joel Jr., Mackenzie and Tayah. Gloria’s sister, Ann Abrahamson, lived in Mount Vernon.

Services will be held Saturday, Sept. 6, at 2 p.m. at First Baptist Church, Mount Vernon. Memorials may be made to American Cancer Society or First Baptist Church in Mount Vernon.
