Glenn Swearengin, 90, a long time resident of Freeland, WA, died Monday, August 14 at Whidbey General Hospital in Coupeville, WA. He had been seriously I’ll the past few weeks.
He was born March 27, 1933 in Bruner, Missouri. he was the son of Earl and Bessie (Dalton) Swearengin. He married his wife Barbara (Zeigler) in Pawhuska, OK on June 29, 1952. He served in the army during the Korean War. He worked for many years and retired from the Boeing Company as an engineer and supervisor.
He was a member of The First Baptist Church of South Whidbey Island.
Survivors include: his wife Barbara Swearengin; his sister Connie Swearengin Robinson,; his daughter Glenna (Swearengin) Nolte and her husband John of Portland, Or, his son William Swearengin and his wife Penny of Freeland, WA; his grandchildren Nicole (Nolte) Barker, Sarah Nolte, Belinda (Swearengin) Permenter, his great grandchildren Maizie, Ezra, Duncan, and Xander
He is preceded in death by his parents Earl and Bessie Swearengin,; his brothers Danny Swearengin, Dale Swearengin and Larry Swearengin, his sisters, Wanda (Swearengin) George, and Gearldine (Swearengin) Horton.
Rev. Daniel Corbett officiating. Services will be on Friday, Aug 25th at 1:00 p.m. at The First Baptist Church of South Whidbey Island with the burial immediately following at Bayview Cemetery.
