The heart of Dixie never left Geraldine Campo Ralston. As the wife of a Naval Officer, Gerry had the unique opportunity to live in and experience many places, but her roots were always grounded in New Orleans.

Gerry was born in Birmingham, Ala., on Nov. 26, 1928, and she passed from this life on April 1, 2020. Gerry was raised in New Orleans, a city she identified with and loved her entire life. She met the love of her life, Capt. Wesley Ralston, on Pensacola Beach in 1949 while he was in flight training as a Naval pilot. They married April 22, 1950.

The family moved several times from coast to coast. While her husband was on deployment, it was left to Gerry to raise their children and manage a household. A task that had its challenges and one she did wholeheartedly.

Gerry excelled in many personal interests including painting and sewing and had a love for the outdoors.

Gerry dearly loved her Lord and was an active church member, most recently at the First Reformed Church in Oak Harbor, Wash., on her beloved Whidbey Island.

Gerry leaves behind her four children, Jeffrey Ralston (Mary), Rodney Ralston (Sally), Jenny Printz, and Denise Carol, all residing in Washington state; eight grandchildren, Wesley Ralston, Michael Ralston, Carly Ralston, Jill Ralston, Anthony Flores, Ryan Printz (Kaylee), Stephanie Flores and Jess Flores.

Gommy, as she was fondly called by her grandchildren, doted on and spoiled each of them, and they had a special bond with her in return.

Gerry spent her last five years in the excellent care of CRISTA Senior Living. Our heartfelt thank you to all the staff there who loved and cared for her so well.

Her burial will be at Mt. Tahoma National Cemetery. No services will be held at this time. In lieu of flowers, we ask that donations be made to King’s Schools at www. kingsschools.org or CRISTA Senior Living at www.cristaseniorliving.org.

Together, Gommy and Poppy will live in eternity in the arms of Jesus and forever in our hearts.
