George William Deasy

George William Deasy passed away on June 4, 2015, in Coupeville. He was born on Aug. 14, 1926, in Sacramento, Calif. to George A. Deasy and Alice Collum (Salero). George married Ethel June Deasy (Perkins) on Aug. 14, 1947.

He served in the United States Navy during World War II. George was a building inspector for the Town of Coupeville for 18 years. He operated his own business, Deasy Sand & Gravel, in Sacramento for 30 years. He was also employed by the State of California for five years programming IBM computers. George was a member of the Knights of Columbus, a past member of the Lions and a past member of the Coupeville Volunteer Fire Department.

George enjoyed gardening and woodworking.

He is survived by his wife Ethel June Deasy; his children George D., Douglas L., David J. and Cindy S.; his grandchildren Christopher, Sandra, Michael, Jeff, Sara, Dustin and Haleigh; his brother William (Bill) Douglas Deasy; and his sister Nancy Arnold. George was preceded in death by his parents and his daughter Carol.

A visitation will be held for George William Deasy from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Wednesday, June 10, 2015, at Burley Funeral Chapel, 30 SE Ely St. Oak Harbor, WA, with a funeral service starting at 1 p.m. followed by a graveside service at Sunnyside Cemetery in Coupeville.
