Fancis Donald Ring: Dec. 15, 1940-Oct. 12, 2017

Francis “Frank” Donald Ring, 76, of Oak Harbor, passed away, Thursday, Oct. 12, 2017 at his home.

Frank was born on Dec. 15, 1940 in Eugene, Ore. to Francis and Lucile (Fraiser) Ring. He graduated from Everett High School in 1959 and from Seattle University in 1964. On Dec. 30, 1961 he married Mary Claire McNeill in Seattle.

Frank worked in the aerospace industry for Boeing Corporation and Northrop Grumman Corporation over his 38-year career. His career with Northrop took his family to Saudi Arabia and Spain over multiple years, giving his family the opportunity to see the world. He was an avid golfer and a member of the Whidbey Golf course. He was also a lifelong baseball fan, following both the Mariners and Yankees. He and Mary have spent their retirement years traveling to see family and friends throughout the country. His love of reading and extensive book collection were wonderful enjoyment in his retirement.

Frank is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Mary of Oak Harbor. and five children: Michael Ring

of Monmouth, N.J.; Maureen (Patrick) Sisto of Las Vegas, Nev.; Jennifer (James) Nickoloff of Moxee, Wash.; Patricia Ring of Worcester, Mass. and Colleen (James) Nawojchik of Port Washington, N.Y., along with 14 grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents Francis and Lucile, and his sister Iris Ramsey.

A Catholic funeral mass will be held at 10 a.m., Thursday, Oct. 19 at St. Augustine Roman Catholic Church in Oak Harbor. Memorials may be made in honor of Frank Ring to UW Medical Center Ear, Nose and Throat Dept. c/o Albert Merati M.D., FACS.
