Estvold Alicia Joy

Published September 13, 2003

Alicia Joy Estvold was born Oct. 14, 1981, in Sedro-Woolley; she went to be with the Lord Sept. 13, 2003, due to complications from diabetes. Her love of music, creative art and her passion for working with children will be remembered by all.

As a strong Christian, she modeled the joy of the Lord in every activity, and her deep faith sustained her during her many health challenges.

Alicia attended schools in Mount Vernon and Stanwood; she graduated from Stanwood High School in 2000. Employed at SAFE in Oak Harbor, Alicia enjoyed working with children in a before and after-school daycare program at Coupeville Elementary School.

Survivors include her sister Christina Estvold of Mount Vernon; parents Dan and Jill of Sequim; grandparents Bruce and Anne Gillett of Mount Vernon and Orville and Lyone Estvold of Tacoma; and a loving family of aunts, uncles and cousins. Countless friends also survive, including her best friend, Miley Rose, and her church families at Oak Harbor’s St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church and Christ the King Community Church.

A celebration of Alicia’s life will be held Thursday, Sept. 18 at 2 p.m., at St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church, 555 SE Regatta Dr., Oak Harbor. Contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
