Ellaine Shannon went on to her next expression of spirit July 8, 2005. Now a vivid memory of dazzling colors and soft light, she continues to touch the hearts of both animals and humans in a way that is profoundly simple, yet complex and intriguing. Ever present through the light of her art and her loving respect for all life forms is her gentle spirit and the absolute truth of her wisdom: We are all one.
Even though her family and friends mourn the loss of her physical presence, they celebrate her life and thank her for what she has taught them about: love, living in the moment, courage, tenacity, creativity, imagination, intellectual curiosity, humor, love of travel, honoring the wisdom of animals, optimism, the joy of cooking, the pleasures of gardening, reading the words of others, and living forever.
Donations in Ellaine’s memory can be made to the Broken Arrow Memorial Fund, a non-profit organization helping Whidbey Island companion animals. P.O. Box 1678, Coupeville, WA 98239.
