Edwina Ruth Baker

Edwina Ruth Baker, 70, of Coupeville, passed away at Careage of Whidbey on Wednesday, Sept. 11, 2013, following a lengthy illness.

Baker was born in New Haven, Conn., on Oct. 23, 1942, to Anthony and Edna Ruth (Bowers) Levenduski.

At the age of 8, she moved to Salt Lake City, and then to Deweyville and Tremonton, Utah, residing there for some 20 years. In 1976, Edwina moved to Fallon, Nev., where she worked as a waitress and mail carrier.

While in Fallon, Edwina had been a member of the Fallon Eagles, where she had served as past president of the Women’s Auxiliary #1447. She also enjoyed ghost-town hunting in Nevada.

Edwina moved to Coupeville in 2002. She was an avid pinochle player at the Oak Harbor Senior Center, and was a member of the New Englanders Club. She was also a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church.

Edwina is survived by her three children: Julie Ann Myers of Fallon, Nev., Gary Botts (Sarah) of Wells, Nev. and Debbie Walker (Tom) of Oak Harbor; six grandchildren: Amanda Myers of Citrus Springs, Fla., Jacob Botts (Jenna) and Marshall Botts, all of Wells, Nev., Shaye Walker of Stanwood and Shelby and Landen Walker, both of Oak Harbor; seven great-grandchildren: Brandi Myers, Tristan Crysler, Ayden Connery, Ethan and Colter Botts and Brayden and Brodie Dawson-Walker.

She is also survived by her brother, John Anthony Levenduski (Sandy) of Snowville, Utah and their three sons, Tony, Chris and Brandon Levenduski-Johnson and their families. She was preceded in death by her mother, Edna Ruth Levenduski, on May 3, 1997.

A Memorial Mass will take place 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 14, 2013, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, with Rev. Paul Pluth, Celebrant. Private interment will take place in Nevada.
