Eudora “Dori” Louise Folsom died peacefully at home in Arlington, Washington, on 1/31/24 surrounded by the love of her family. Dori was born on 4/15/1926 in Seattle, Washington to Ellston and Laura (McGuire) Isbell. One of four children, Dori had two sisters and one brother. Dori married her Queen Anne High School sweetheart, Riley T. Folsom, on April 16, 1944 – the day after her 18th birthday. Riley was a Naval Aviator and was stationed all over the Country during his service. Dori was the consummate officer’s wife for 29 years and enjoyed the life and the so many good friends they made.
Riley and Eudora were blessed with a large and loving family, in the form of six daughters! After retirement from the U.S. Navy, Dori and Riley returned to Oak Harbor, in Washington State. They were snowbirds to Arizona for a time, then moved there for a few years, before returning to Washington to be nearfamily. During those years, Dori and Riley fulfilled their love of travel, first RV’ing all over the country, and then cruising, and international travel. As well, Dori discovered her passion for local theater, participating in many productions at both the Whidbey Playhouse, and with the Sun City Players in Arizona.
Riley died in 2015, and Dori spent her remaining years near her family, waiting to join Riley. She always said she would stay around to age 100, but that was all!
Dori is survived by daughters Kathleen Folsom,Carol (David) Brown, Deborah (Kelly) Koontz, and Martha (Tim) Folsom, as well as son-in-law Ron Gann, thirteen grandchildren, twenty-six great-grandchildren, and three great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, siblings, and daughters Laura Lucile Folsom and Andrea Folsom Gann.
A private family inurnment will be held at a later date at the Memorial Garden at the Warm Beach Free Methodist Church.
