Edith Shaver Wright, 100, died March 29, 2005 at home in her sleep.
She was born June 21, 1905, to Della G. Robbins and William A. Shaver. She married Wayne T. Wright in 1925. Together Wayne and Edith served Methodist congregations in western Oregon and Washington.
During World War II, Wayne was appointed to the Coupeville United Methodist Church and retired on disability in 1963. After Wayne’s death, Edith cooked and sometimes managed church summer camps and catered for outdoor environmental classes from Renton, Seattle and others, catered for seminars, retreats and reunions. She cooked for the Coupeville Lions Club until after her 79th birthday.
Surviving are her daughter June in Coupeville; a sister-in-law and 13 nieces and nephews. Preceding her were her husband Wayne, a sister and three brothers and a niece.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, April 23 at 1 p.m. at Coupeville United Methodist Church. with a reception following.
