Earl F. Faris died Tuesday, Jan. 11, 2002, at Skagit Valley Hospital in Mount Vernon. He was born Aug. 25, 1916, in Colorado.

He retired after 32 years of civil service in Oak Harbor and had lived in Mount Vernon since 1991.

Earl was preceded in death by his loving wife of 51 years, Dorothy “Dot” Faris. Earl is survived by his children: Bill (Pat) Faris of Kennewick; Dick (Linda) Faris of Phoenix, Ariz.; and numerous grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, Jan. 15, 2002, at Emanuel Baptist Church in Mount Vernon. Cremation was by Hawthorne Funeral Home of Mount Vernon.
