Don was born on October 12, 1950, in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, to Dora H. and Charles C. Dunsmore. Don passed away on January 29, 2025, in Coupeville, WA.

He graduated from Coeur d’Alene Senior High School in 1968. While there he enjoyed participating in basketball and tennis.

Don obtained an associate’s degree in 1970 from North Idaho Junior College. He then joined the US Army in December of that same year. He was later discharged in 1973 after his tour of duty in Vietnam.

He made his living as a land surveyor in Spokane and then later in Coupeville, WA. Don was the ultimate sportsman, loving basketball, baseball, golf, darts, hunting, and was a serious fan of the Seahawks, Mariners, the UW Huskies and Gonzaga.

He is survived by his siblings; Richard, Dorothy and David, children; Robert and Michael, grandchildren; Dominique, Baylee, Dawn and Dakota and great-grandchildren; Shay and Rylee.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am on Sunday, February 9th, 2025, at Whidbey Memorial Funeral and Cremation Chapel followed by a short graveside service at Sunnyside Cemetery in Coupeville.

We will finish in plenty of time to watch the Super Bowl and lift a glass in Don’s honor.
