Donald Charles Jacklin, 72, died unexpectedly Feb. 4, 2005, at his home in Oak Harbor. Don was born May 17, 1932, to Charles Robert Ellsworth Jacklin and Lucille Beutler Jacklin (Thorlakson) in Port Angeles.
Don served his country in the U.S. Navy as a career man, retiring in 1970. Don enjoyed collecting Native American art. Don is survived by his family: beloved wife and partner of more than 52 years Bessie Jacklin at the family home; his beloved mother, Lucille Thorlakson of Coupeville; children Walter Charles Jacklin of Mount Lake Terrace, Danny Lynn Jacklin and his wife Paulette of Carnation and Tammy Lou Skinner and her husband Keith of Mount Lake Terrace; brother Duane Ellsworth Jacklin and his wife Anna of Clovis, N.M.; and six grandchildren. Don was preceded in death by his father Charles, and by a grandson, Nicholas Christopher Jacklin. The family wishes to express deep thanks to Marge Wood and Micheel Knowles for their kindness and support. Private family placement is planned.
