April 29, 2005, our hearts were broken with the loss of our beloved husband, father and son Dennis Eugene Mentzos, Sr., 59; after a year long battle with cancer.

He was born Oct. 2, 1945. He left this life peacefully at his home in Langley, surrounded by his loving mother, wife and daughter.

He is survived by his wife Michele; mother Grace; sons Dennis Jr. and Jason; daughter Charlene; sister Sharlene Mentzos of Florida; brothers Craig Mentzos of Florida, Paul Mentzos and David Lee Mentzos, both of Minnesota; several nieces and nephews; and his many many friends and acquaintances that Dennis has touched along his life’s journey.

He was very proud to be a businessman in the small town of Freeland; known as “Simply Whidbey” for more than a dozen years. “On that rainy April evening I lost the love of my life, my soulmate, and my best friend. There will be a hole in my heart until we meet again. Until then ‘Babe’ I will love you” — Michele Mentzos.
