David E. Fryberger

David Fryberger, 48, lost his hard-fought battle with cancer Sunday, Oct. 15, 2006. He was surrounded by his loving family and friends at his home. He was born Oct. 27, 1957 in Vancouver, Wash., to Dennis Paul and Barbara Helen Fryberger.

David was raised on fish hatcheries around Washington. He attended Mossyrock High School. At the age of 20 he joined the U.S. Navy. He was proud to serve his country and made a career of military life. At NAS Whidbey in 1998 David retired as a Chief Petty Officer 1st Class Deep Sea Diver.

David loved fishing, bowling, Star Trek and NASCAR. More than anything he enjoyed spending time with his wife, and son Jarrett. David took great pride in being a good father and a loving husband.

David is survived by his wife Emily at the family home in Oak Harbor and by son Jarrett Paul Fryberger of Oak Harbor and son Cory Michael Bridges, with wife Richele of Sacramento. He also leaves sisters Lori Anne Dallas of Sitka, Alaska and Juli Anna Schiltz of Camas, Wash., along with grandson Aidan Brian Bridges, step-mother Linda Lee Fryberger, mother Barbara Helen Schiltz and step-father Ronald Allen Schiltz.

David was preceded in death by his father Dennis Paul Fryberger, his brother James Ernest Fryberger and one son Shelby Christian Fryberger.

Services for David will be held at the Church of Latter Day Saints on O’Leary street in Oak Harbor Saturday, Oct. 21, at 1 p.m., followed by military honors and a reception. Arrangements were entrusted to Burley Funeral Chapel.
