Daniel Miller

Daniel Alan Miller, 52, died Saturday, Nov. 13, 2004. Dan was born July 2, 1953, to Virginia Wells Miller (Pajari) and Daniel Alva Miller.

As a member of a military family, Dan was moved around in his younger years, living in Garden Grove, Calif.; Quonset Point, R.I.; Tachikawa, Japan; and back to Oak Harbor.

Leaving Oak Harbor High School, Dan attended a technical computer school and after completing his studies, he began working at University Hospital. Later he was employed as a computer analyst for more than 20 years at Bank of America in Seattle, teaching and designing Web pages during this time.

Dan had a great love for children and for some time volunteered two nights a week at Children’s Hospital in Seattle, cheering up young patients whenever possible. His gift with children was apparent throughout adulthood.

Dan is survived by his mother, Virginia Miller Pajari of Oak Harbor; and sister Lynn Rancourt of Phoenix, Ariz. Dan also left behind his beloved partner, Holly Hedges and son Zane.

Dan was preceded in death by his father, Daniel Alva Miller.

A memorial eucharist will be at 11 a.m., Saturday, Nov. 20, at St. Stephen’s Anglican Church. A reception will follow the service.
