Cynthia Lee Sastre, 58, of Oak Harbor, passed away suddenly on Nov. 23, 2008 at her home south of Deception Pass.
She was born Sept. 20, 1950 in Long Beach, Calif., the daughter of Elwin and Louise (Mays) Wright, and graduated from Milikan High in Long Beach. She met the love of her life, Juan Sastre, in 1975 and they were married in Las Vegas on Feb. 14, 1976. Cynthia worked as a dental assistant, a funding supervisor for a mortgage firm, a chiropractor assistant and homemaker. Later in life, she became an ordained minister with the Universal Life Church in Modesto, Calif., and a Reiki Master Teacher, teaching thousands of students the art of Reiki.
Upon Juan’s retirement in 2006 they moved to beautiful Whidbey Island, the place where Cynthia wanted to be, where she liked to sketch, write poetry, and teach Reiki. She will be dearly missed by many, especially by her husband. Cynthia was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her loving husband, Juan; son, Sean Dujardin; daughter, Jaime Sastre; sister, Katheline Wright; and grandsons, Michael and Landin Dujardin.
