Corrine Frances Clausen: March 20, 2021

Corrine Frances Clausen, beloved wife of 67 years to Alfred Henry Clausen (deceased), and beloved mother of three children, Rick, Doug and Janine, and grandmother to seven grandchildren, Tim, Kate, Meagan, Nicole, Heather, Sidney Corrine and James, passed away on March 20, 2021.

Corrine was known for her vivacious personality, artistry and creativity, gourmet cooking and acts of service.

Corrine was honored by President Reagan, receiving The Jefferson Award for her extensive volunteer work in her community. She also received a special citation for exceptional volunteer service with the American Red Cross.

Corrine, born to Peter and Lucy (Roccia) Del Missier, was the oldest of six children, Jeanie (dec.), Richard, Fred (dec.), Lucy Ann and Loretta.

Corrine graduated from Queen Anne High School and Marylhurst College and was an art teacher for Seattle Public Schools.

She married Alfred Henry Clausen on Aug. 22, 1953. The family moved from Seattle to Whidbey Island, Wash., in 1970. Corrine quickly became involved in island life. She volunteered in her children’s schools and was an active member of the school board for years.

Corrine was an amazing cook. The Clausen house was always open for kids to learn to swim and play in their pool or enjoy a place at the table. Corrine enjoyed many activities, including hiking, skiing, bridge and traveling; her warmth and beautiful spirit will be dearly missed.

A private memorial will be held at a later date.

For those who would like to honor Corrine donations can be made to Good Cheer Food Bank, 2812 Grimm Road, Langley, WA 98260.
