Chester Rush ‘Russ’ Argent

Chester Rush “Russ” Argent of Coupeville died peacefully at his home March 20, 2005. He was born in Sunnyside Nov. 9, 1908, to Chester C. Argent and Faye Rush Argent. He lived on Whidbey Island for nearly 70 years. He enjoyed farming and was a bus driver for Coupeville School District for many years.

He was married to Leone Mae (Willard) Argent June 21, 1939; she survives him at the family home. Russ is also survived by daughter Joy Linde and husband Dennis of Coupeville; son Dennis Argent and wife Kristinia of Tacoma; granddaughters Kim Jensen and husband Eric of Sedro-Woolley and Shellye Nelson and husband Dan of Mount Vernon; grandsons Lonnie Linde and wife Arma of Hoevelaken, Holland, and Alexander Argent of Tacoma. Also surviving are great-grandchildren Erin, Loren, Brian and Jack and his brothers Ed and Francis Argent.

Russ was preceded in death by son Gene Argent, brother Carroll Argent and sisters Esther Rozen and Margaret Booth.

His family will miss his wonderful sense of humor, generosity and loving personality.

There will be no funeral services at his request. In lieu of flowers, donations would be appreciated in Russ’s memory to Home Health Care and Hospice of Whidbey General Hospital, 101 N. Main St. Coupeville WA 98239.
