Charles Ruddell Jr.

A memorial service for Charles E. Ruddell Jr., 79, of Greenbank (formerly of Ketchikan, Alaska, and Bellevue), will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, March 14 at Flintoft’s Issaquah Funeral Home, 540 E Sunset Way, Issaquah. Mr. Ruddell died March 9, 2002 in Coupeville.

Mr. Ruddell was born on July 22, 1922, in St. Louis, Mo., to Charles and Ada Ruddell. He was raised in Bellevue and graduated from Bellevue High School. He married Claire Evelyn Carlson on July 27, 1950, in Bellevue. He was a building contractor in the Bellevue, Redmond, Issaquah area before moving to Ketchikan, Alaska, in 1971. He was vice president in charge of construction for the 1st Bank in Ketchikan. He moved to Greenbank in 1997 to be near his family. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, traveling, and spending time with his family and friends.

Survivors include two sons, Steven A. Carlson of Greenbank and William J. Ruddell of Monroe; a daughter, Judith Lynn Hesburn of Entiat; two sisters Betty J. Schaefer of Issaquah, and Joan D. Phillips of Fall City; two brothers, James L. Ruddell and William E. Ruddell, both of Bridgeport; and 9 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife Claire in 1985, a brother Richard in 2001, sisters Larena in 1939 and Ramona in 2000, and daughter A. Marian in 2000.
