Catie Potter

Catie Potter, 19, of Xenia, Ohio, died March 6, 2002, at Miami Valley Hospital after a car accident. She was born in Xenia on July 19, 1982, to Bill Potter and Sheri (Guthrie) Hogan.

She attended schools on Whidbey Island for grades 2 through 11. Catie graduated from Tyburn Academy in 2000 and was attending Sinclair Community College.

She is preceded in death by her maternal grandfater, Jim Guthrie, and paternal grandfather, Bill Potter.

Survivors include her mother and step-father, Jim and Sheri Hogan of New York, and her father and step-mother, Bill and Kristen Potter of Xenia. She is also survived by her maternal grandparents, Roger and Emma Lou Jenks and her paternal grandmother, Virginia Potter; two sisters, Sarah Hogan and Marissa Potter; a brother, Dylan Potter; aunts and uncles, Steve and Debbie Guthrie, Don and Debi Sanders, Jay and Joanna Jenks, Kirk and Diane Anderson, Rob and Nan Spitz, Kent and Vanessa Jenks, Bob Wilson, Brenda and John Hensley, and Linda Kamenar; and many special cousins and a host of friends.

A Mass of Christian burial was held March 9 at St. Brigid Catholic Church with Father Ken Schartz and R. James “Pete” Creamer officiating. Arrangements were by McColaugh Funeral Home, Xenia, Ohio.

Catie was a generous heart and had the ability to make friends wherever she went. She will be greatly missed.
