Carle Frederick Hahne

Carle Frederick Hahne, 89, of Oak Harbor, died June 21, 2004, at Aldercrest Health and Rehabilitation Center in Edmonds.
Mr. Hahne was born in Seattle on Jan. 22, 1915, to Ross C. Hahne and Bertha M. (Stumpf) Hahne. He was raised in West Seattle and graduated from West Seattle High School. He married Naomi Beth Bennett May 29, 1937, in Seattle. Carle was employed by the Seattle Transit System for 38 years as a bus mechanic. In 1977, the couple moved to Whidbey Island. Carle enjoyed working in his garden and on the property on which he and Naomi lived. He was a member of Oak Harbor Elks Club.
Carle is survived by one daughter, Roberta Marshall and husband Bill of Lynnwood; one son, Ross Hahne of Seattle; five grandchildren, Byron, Keith, Joann and Curtis Marshall and Todd Hahne; three great-grandchildren, Roni Jo and Chaz Thomas and Taylor Hahne; one sister, Alice Chalfe of North Bend. He was preceded in death by his wife Naomi Nov. 13, 1994, and by one son, Paul Hahne.
A private family memorial graveside service will be held at a later date at Maple Leaf Cemetery. Arrangements and cremation under direction of Burley Funeral Chapel.
