Elmer William “Bill” Hilden, long-time resident of Yuma, Az. and Whidbey Island, passed away on Dec. 19, 2004. He retired from a career in the U.S. Border Patrol. He was on the Border Patrol Pistol Team and assisted with the development of Adair Park Ranges. After retirement, Hilden was captain, team leader, coach, judge and jury for the U.S. Olympic Shooting Organization.
Hilden was preceded in death by son David and is survived by his wife Norene; Laura and Joe Inman, Sheri Keane, Terri and Art Mahnken; mother-in-law Jessie; eight grandchildren; co-workers and friends.
A celebration of life took place Dec. 28 in Coupeville.
