Betty Joanne Embleton

Betty Joanne Embleton, 69, of Everett, passed away Dec. 13, 2006. She was born August 21, 1937 in Oak Harbor to Vernon and Sally Eerkes.

During her working life, Betty worked as a banker, retiring from Wells Fargo in 1999. Betty was a committed person, serving many years as the treasurer of Christmas House. This was very important to her, as she spent many years devoted to this cause.

Betty had many hobbies, including working in her yard, gardening, embroidering, and baking apple pies from the apples on her apple tree.

Betty was also very involved in the Christian Reformed Church where she was the church organist and pianist for many years. Lastly, Betty took joy in helping the elderly at Washington Oakes.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents, Vernon and Sally Eerkes.

Betty leaves behind daughters Debbie (Gary) Medema, Roxanne Webber, Kathy (Rick) Waddelow; son, Randy (Gayle) Embleton; grandchildren, Mark Medema, Julie Medema, Megan Webber, Matthew Webber, Tyler Patterson, Haley Patterson, and Sara Waddelow; sisters, Loretta (Fred) Ham, Donna (Les) Dams, Linda (Maynard) Bos; and her brother, Ron (Amanda) Eerkes.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Everett Christian School, Christmas House, or the Everett First Christian Reformed Church endowment fund.

Services were held Dec. 20 at the First Christian Reformed Church, Everett. Arrangements under the care of Purdy and Walters with Cassidy, Everett.
