Betty Irene Hobbs, 77, of Everett, a former Oak Harbor resident, died at Alterra Clare Bridge Memory Care Facility in Everett Sunday, July 20, 2003.

Mrs. Hobbs was born in Crawford, Neb., Jan. 14, 1926. She moved to Oak Harbor in 1967. Betty was a volunteer for Red Cross facility at Whidbey Island Naval Air Station for many years.

She is survived by her two sons, Kenneth Hobbs of Plano, Texas, and Gregory Hobbs of Everett; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; also, one sister Wyoma Ruth Denham of Durango, Colo. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gilbert Elias Hobbs.

In keeping with her wishes, no services will be held. Private inurnment took place at Willamette National Cemetery in Portland, Ore. Arrangements are under direction of Burley Funeral Chapel.
