Betty Fry Clark:November 19, 1939 – December 13, 2022

The world has lost a great lady, Betty Fry Clark, to cancer at 83 years old on Dec. 13, 2022, just after a gathering of her children and grandchildren, where we all had the chance to show her our love. Born and raised in Seattle, WA by Laurence and Eunice Belcourt, educated at Holy Names Academy and the University of Washington, she raised her family in Seattle, and spent her later years as an active member of the communities in Edmonds and on South Whidbey Island. She was a beloved mother of three, Shannon Fry Hall, Geoff Fry, and Joel Fry, and a good friend to many in the Seattle and Whidbey Island communities. Betty, or, as many people knew her, Nurse Betty, had a lifelong devotion to improving the lives of children through her work as a school nurse and a leader of health and education community groups.

Betty’s life was about living; her love for the UW Huskies football, gardening, gourmet cooking, overseas travel, and music infused these same passions in her children, and even grandchildren. Nurse Betty is survived by her daughter Shannon Hall and family (Wayne Hall (husband), Brittney, Garrett, and Amy Hall (grandchildren) and Indiana (great granddaughter); her son Geoffrey Fry and family (Amy Briej (wife), and Isabella and Griffin Fry and Sophia Briej (grandchildren); and her son Joel Fry.

Funeral services will be held at Holy Rosary Church of Edmonds (https://www.holyrosaryedmonds.org/) on Jan. 5, Thursday, at 10:30 AM. With a Rosary prayer starting at 10:00 AM. She requested that donations be made in her name to Readiness to Learn (www.readinesstolearn.org), a Langley, WA based organization that serves youth and families impacted by isolation, poverty, and inequity.
