Beth M. (Filer) Patmore

Beth M. (Filer) Patmore, age 93, passed away June 3, 2002, in Mount Vernon. Beth was born May 29, 1909, in Edison.

Beth is survived by her children, Joanne (John) McInnes and Bob (Dana) Filer; grandchildren, Barbra Bullock, Chet O. Griffith and Robert O. Filer; step-daughter, Sharyn (Lynn) Burge; great-grandchildren, Eliason Bullock and Zachary Bullock; step-grandchildren, Lora Burge and Ryan Burge; sister, Luannis (Bill) O’Neil; and numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by husbands, Owen B. Filer and Ora Patmore; four brothers and one sister.

Beth and her husband Owen owned and operated, for many years, the CafŽ in Lynden and Filer’s Mount Baker Inn in Glacier. Beth worked and retired from Safeway in 1972, she worked at the Sedro-Woolley and Oak harbor stores. She was always occupied with cooking, flowers, visiting with people, antiques and spending time with her family, and she loved teddy bears. Beth was a kind and wonderful woman, she is greatly loved and will be missed by all who knew her.

Memorials may be made to a charity of choice in Beth’s name. Viewing will be held Wednesday, June 5, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., at Hawthorne Funeral Home, Mount Vernon. Graveside service will be held Thursday, June 6, at 1 p.m., at Greenacres Memorial Park in Ferndale.
