Bernardine “Bernie” Goehring, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend lost her battle to cancer. She went peacefully to be with her Lord and Savior on November 20, 2012.
Bernadine was born on Morristown, New Jersey on January 3, 1937 to William and Blanch Obermiller.
Bernie lived in New Jersey until she met and married her husband “Bo” Harvey Goehring on October 8, 1954. Harvey and Bernie were stationed all over the country before settling on NAS Whidbey Island in 1969.
Bernie was a selfless person who gave of her time to be a caregiver and friend to many over the years. Bernie bowled on an Oak Harbor Bowling League for years, a member of the San Jaunderers RV Club, she also loved gardening, decorating and spending time with her grandchildren. She was an active member of Oak Harbor Lutheran Church for several years. She has been a member of Concordia Lutheran Church for the last four years.
Bernie was an amazing loving woman who will be missed by all.
Bernie was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Harvey Goehring, her daughter Kelli Behrend, her sisters Peggy Titus and Rosalie Hughes. She is survived by her four children; Steve Goehring of Tacoma, Mary (Tim) Langstaff of Stanwood, Ted Goehring of Oak Harbor and David (Robyn)Goehring of Nappenee, Indiana, seven grandchildren, one great granddaughter, one sister Blanch Nickelson, three brothers Billy, Victor and Steve Obermiller and many nieces and nephews from all over the country.

Memorial Services will be held Saturday, Dec. 1, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. at Oak Harbor Lutheran Church 1253 NW 2nd Ave.
