Becky Reed Ragland

Becky Reed Ragland was reunited with her beloved mother and father on Aug. 10, 2008, at the age of 56. She was born Sept. 5, 1951, to Russell Holbrook and Jean Kerr Reed. Becky attended Clearfield High School graduating in 1969.

She married Jimmy Doyle Ragland on Sept. 7, 1984, and lived in Layton, Utah, until they moved to Coupeville in 2003. Her joy in life was her family, especially the grandchildren, and the holidays. Making other people happy made Becky happy.

Becky worked for the U.S. Forest Service in the Ogden, Utah, Regional Office for more than 20 years, a job she loved and where she made many lifelong friends. Her laughter could be heard up and down the hallways at the federal building and when you heard it you knew it was going to be a good day.

She is survived by her husband Jimmy; son Jeremy (Kelley), Layton, Utah; step-sons Tracy (Mary) of Newcastle, Wyo.; Forrest (Debbie) of Laramie, Wyo.; brother Dale Reed (Gail) of Austin, Texas; sisters Bonnie Smith (Lawrence) of Oak Harbor, and Ranae Gerber (Larry) of Layton; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one sister, Randy, her parents and Rags, her beloved dog.

As she requested a graveside service will be held Saturday, Aug. 16, at 11 a.m. at the Bountiful City Cemetery, Bountiful, Utah, where services were provided by uneral directors, Lindquist’s Layton Mortuary, where you may email condolences to the family at www.lindquistmortuary.com.

A memorial service will also be held in her honor in Oak Harbor at a date and time to be announced, with arrangements entrusted to Burley Funeral Chapel. You may also go online at www.burleyfuneralchapel.com to sign an online guestbook.

The family would like to thank to the wonderful doctors Dr. Thomas Blanch, Dr. Marcus Brann, Dr. John Hawkins, Dr. Willie Vracin, Dr. Pete Beglin and the staff at the Coupeville Clinic that have helped Becky throughout the years; and the medical personnel at the University of Washington Medical Center Cardiac Unit.

Becky will always be remembered by all whose lives she touched.
