Beatrice King

Beatrice Sarah King, 78, of Oak Harbor, passed away Nov. 15, 2005.

Beatrice was born in Pittsburgh, Pa., to Dwight and Frances Leland on June 6, 1927. She spent her youth in and around Pittsburgh and Allentown, Pa., and on March 28, 1947, she married Paulus Eugene King of New Haven, Ind. Paul passed away in 1983, and Beatrice left New Haven in 1996 to be close to her son in Oak Harbor. Beatrice was active in the IOOF Rebekahs in New Haven and a member of the New Haven United Methodist Church.

Beatrice is survived by her son Eric King and wife Becky of Oak Harbor; granddaughter Isobel Lambert; and three great-grandchildren, Christian, Jordan and Gabriela of Waynesboro, Va. Also cherished as family are Victor and Deborah Potts of New Haven, Ind.

A Remembrance Gathering will be held at Summerhill Retirement Community in Oak Harbor on Monday, Nov. 28, from 7 to 8 p.m. In keeping with Beatrice’s wishes, her ashes will be laid to rest next to her beloved husband at the Lehman Cemetery in Payne, Ohio, after a memorial service at E. Harper & Son Funeral Home in the Spring of 2006. Local arrangements under direction of Burley Funeral Chapel.
