Bailey Johnson

Funeral Mass for Bailey Madison Ann Johnson will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Monday, April 8, at St. Augustine’s Catholic Church with Rev. John J. O’Leary, S.J. Celebrant. The Rite of Committal will follow at Maple Leaf Cemetery. A reception for family and friends will follow at the parish hall, St. Augustine’s Church. Visitation for family and friends will be held Saturday, April 6, from 2 to 5 p.m. at Burley Funeral Chapel.

Bailey Johnson died April 3, 2002, at Children’s Hospital, Seattle, following a sudden illness. She was born Feb. 3, 1998, in Coupeville to Corey and Kathryn (West) Johnson.

Bailey was always on the go. She liked to watch the Mariners and wear her hat just like her brother. She loved reading books with mom and dad, roller blading in the driveway, swimming at Whistler and making hot chocolate. She was a very happy, busy child.

Bailey is survived by her parents Corey and Kathy Johnson, brother Kyle, sisters Katelund and Kelsey, all at the family home, Oak Harbor. She is also survived by her grandparents Clint and Pat West of Oak Harbor and Gene and Betty Johnson of Yuma, Ariz., and by her great grandparents, Dorothy Camandona of Clinton and Clara and Carl Jackson of Bothell. Numerous aunts, uncles and cousins also survive.
