Anna Marion Provance, 82, died at Home Place Special Care Center, Oak Harbor, Jan. 10, 2005. She was born Oct. 13, 1922, in Connellsville, Pa.
Anna was raised in Connnellsville and Point Marion. She married Frank L. Provance, Jr. Dec. 31, 1941, in Pt. Marion, PA. Frank was in the U.S. Army Air Corps and Anna followed his military assignments during World War II.
After the war, Anna and Frank settled in California. Anna worked as a secretary for a finance company and for the Hartford Insurance Company. In 1955, she and Frank moved to Norwalk, Calif., and Anna accepted a position as administrative secretary for the city of Norwalk.
Anna and Frank spent more than 40 years in Norwalk. Frank died in 2000 and in May of that year, she moved to Oak Harbor to be near her daughter. Anna was a founding member of St. Linus Catholic Church, the Golden Age Club and Senior Center, all of Norwalk, Calif.
Anna is survived by one daughter Patricia A. Seablom and husband Charles of Oak Harbor. One sister, Irene Exner of Beaver Dam, Wis., one step-sister Betty Wade of Leona Valley, Calif. and one step-brother Ed Sacks of Pennsylvania and two grandchildren, Jennifer Yount of Coupeville and Kevin Seablom of Oak Harbor, also survive.
A vigil service for Anna Provance was be held Jan. 17 at the Chapel of Memories, Norwalk, Calif. A Funeral Mass was celebrated Jan. 18 at St. Linus Catholic Church with Rites of Committal to follow at All Souls Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association. Local arrangements are entrusted to Burley Funeral Chapel, Oak Harbor.
