Angela Zeran

Angela Zeran, 97, died August 17, 2005 at Careage of Whidbey. She was born May 22, 1908 in Georgetown, British Guiana. She lost her parents at a very young age and was raised by Susannah and Jeremiah DeSouza, who later adopted her.

Mrs. Zeran moved first to New York in February of 1914, at the age of five and then to Los Angeles, where she attended school and graduated from high school in 1926. She worked as a typist and office worker for Shell Oil during the Depression era. While working at Shell Oil her boss introduced her to William E. Zeran, her future husband.

amping and rides to the mountains.  Mrs. Zeran was an excellent gardener and seamstress, she also enjoyed her knitting, but her real love was her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Mrs. Zeran enjoyed serving in the Los Angeles Temple and other church callings of the Church or Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Mrs. Zeran is survived by her daughter Suzanne and her husband Douglas Dobbins of Oak Harbor; grandchildren, Brian Dobbins of Bellevue, Rachel Loetterle of Langley, David and Lisa Dobbins of Herriman, Utah, Gary and Kelly Dobbins of Oakwood, Ill., and Robert Dobbins of Reno, Nev.; and great grandchildren, Travis and Kelsey Loetterle, Makay, Hannah and Madelyn Dobbins and Nathan, Tyler and Savannah Dobbins. She was preceded in death by her sister Ursula Petersen and William E. Zeran, her husband of 54 years.

Services for Mrs. Zeran will be held at the Oak Harbor Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on Monday August 22, at 1 p.m., followed by a graveside committal at Maple Leaf Cemetery in Oak Harbor. Arrangements under the direction of Burley Funeral Chapel.
