Amos W. ‘Vince’ Vinson

Amos W. “Vince” Vinson, 91, an 18-year resident of Oak Harbor, died Sept. 13, 2003, at his home.
Mr. Vinson was born May 15, 1912, in Clinton, Ill., to Charles and Emma Vinson. He worked for the Toledo Peoria Western Railroad beginning on Nov. 15, 1929, and continuing for 11 years. He worked construction for about two years, and then with the International Association of Machinists for about one-and-a-half years.
Following his marriage to Florine Bitzkus in Olean, N.Y., June 18, 1946, Vince became employed by the Chicago, Burlington and Quincy Railroad (later to become the Burlington Northern Railroad) in Burlington, Iowa. He retired in May 1977. The couple moved to Oak Harbor on April 15, 1984.
Vince was preceded in death by his wife Florine on Jan. 20, 2001. Arrangements and cremation under direction of Burley Funeral Chapel..
