A 41-year-old Kent woman is facing felony charges for head-butting Island County Sheriff’s deputy and harassing an acquaintance, according to Island County Superior Court documents.
Prosecutors charged Sherri Diedrick June 15 with assault in the third degree, assault in the fourth degree and harassment. She pleaded not guilty June 24.
A resident of N. Power Road reported June 12 that Diedrick was drunk, verbally abusive and refused to leave her home, Deputy S. Fague wrote in his report. The alleged victim told the deputy that Diedrick made sexual advances toward her and assaulted her when she refused, court records show.
Fague wrote that he heard Diedrick threaten to assault the woman and burn down the house.
The deputy arrested Diedrick and transported her to the jail, where two deputies had to carry her out of the car. Diedrick head-butted Fague in the face once and attempted to a second time.
“She alternatively yelled, sobbed, screamed, kicked apologized … and asked to be let go,†Fague wrote.
If convicted of the charges, Diedrick could face up to a year in jail.
