Wolves warm up for season opener | Track

The Coupeville track team received its first taste of competition in 2016 when it took part in the Island Jamboree at Oak Harbor Thursday, March 17.

The Coupeville track team received its first taste of competition in 2016 when it took part in the Island Jamboree at Oak Harbor Thursday, March 17.

The Wolves were joined by South Whidbey, Lakewood and the host Wildcats at the meet.

Coupeville collected wins from Makana Stone (800, 2:40.15), Mitchell Carroll (triple jump, 37-03) and Jordan Ford (high jump, 5-06).

Coupeville was the only school to field a team in the 4×100 relays. Lauren Grove, Lindsey Roberts, Stone and Sylvia Hurlburt won in 52.42; while Gabe Eck, Ford, Jacob Martin and Jacob Smith clocked a 47.83.

Next up for the Wolves is the Port Angeles Invitational at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 19.
