Wolves start season at jamboree | Track

The Coupeville High School track team primed its engine for the regular season by competing in the four-team Island Jamboree in Oak Harbor Thursday, March 19.

The Coupeville High School track team primed its engine for the regular season by competing in the four-team Island Jamboree in Oak Harbor Thursday, March 19.

The Wolves joined the host Wildcats, South Whidbey and Lakewood at the meet. No team scores were kept.

Coupeville picked up individual firsts from Makana Stone (girls 400, 1.01.9) and Latham Kelley (boys 200, 23.83). The girls 4×100 relay team (53.13) of Sylvia Hurlburt, Marisa Etzell, Kirsten Pelroy and Lauren Grove also won but it was the only team competing.

Coupeville goes to Port Angeles for a 13-team invitational meet at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 21.
