The Coupeville High School soccer team made its first ever Olympic League match one to remember, throttling host Chimacum 11-1 Thursday, April 16.

The Wolves (1-0, 2-5) were sparked by Abraham Leyva Elenes, who scored four goals and registered four assists.

“As you can see from the stats,” coach Kyle Nelson said, “Abraham had a great game; he was a force that Chimacum did not have an answer to.”

Coupeville also received offensive firepower from JT Quinn, who scored two goals, and Tanner Kircher, William Nelson, Ethan Sparks, Sebastian Davis and Joel Walstad, who had one goal each.

Nelson and Sparks also collected assists.

“Nice to start the league season off well,” coach Nelson said.

Coupeville’s next match is also with Chimacum (0-1, 1-6), this time at Mickey Clark Field at 3:30 p.m. Thursday, April 23.
