Illness is bugging the Coupeville High School soccer team, and host Cedarcrest took advantage by downing the Wolves 5-0 Tuesday, March 19.

Coach Paul Mendes said because of illness and injuries a number of players saw their first varsity action subbing for the missing Wolves.

He added, “This is one of the best Cedarcrest teams we faced in a long time. They should be one of the top teams in the league this year. We held up well defensively the first 30 minutes.”

Coupeville (0-1, 0-2) travels to Lakewood (0-1, 0-1-2) at 7 p.m. Friday, March 22.
